JOURNEY THROUGH THE TEAR DROP ISLAND:

I spent the last 2 weeks of 2009 traveling through SRI LANKA and it was AMAZING.

My good friend Tanuja got married there and crew from NYC and London Town came out and we brought in 2010 together. It is small but very diverse country from the Tea plantations in the mountains, to the rice fields in the Hill country, down to the beautiful beaches on the east coast. With the Canon G-10 & Nikon D-80 riding shotgun I was able to capture some beautiful images from the country.

I met some great people on that side of the world and put my life here in perspective.

As Americans we often don’t realize the opportunities that we have and don’t take advantage of where we are, what we have, and what we able to do.

I took a 4.5 hour CRAMPED train ride to the mountains to a place called Nuwara Eliyah. The kind of train where you fight your way on, get in where you fit in, and make your own space…no seats at ALL. 3RD Class Status. Anyways, I showed a Hindi family how to use a digital camera, which they had never held before. They were SO excited and completely amazed by the technology that is so commonplace to us. I can’t begin to tell how that experience effected me.

CHERISH what YOU HAVE. GO after what YOU WANT. GIVE back UNSELFISHLY.

Peep a few flicks from the journey up top.

THE FAMILY STAND

A few months ago I went to H-town to surprise ma-dukes and I brought my camera with me. I realized that I didn’t really have a lot of flicks of my family so I decided to shoot them all one by one.

Everyone was cool in front of the camera except for my mom who tried to hide from me. Even my gun-toting grandpa had a calmness about him that translated well in the images. The expressions are honest and raw.

THE NEW SOUND

I pulled together a few intimate shots of some friends of mine who I feel are among the new sound that is pushing music FORWARD. I tried to capture them each in a natural way or in their own personal zone. There are many more artists on this list but I wanted to offer only a glimpse.

Go learn more about these artists and checkout the rest of my personal soundtrack at IHEARDITON. Keep your ears OPEN….
